Canadians spend billions of dollars on gas tax: CTF

OTTAWA, On. -- The Canadian Taxpayers Federation held its 'Gas Tax Honesty Day' annual event to blow the whistle on the high taxes levied on drivers.

New numbers from the CTF shows Canadians will pay $21-billion this year in taxes on fuel.

Fuel is taxed on the price per litre and then that price is then taxed yet again.

QUEBEC - The Quebec government will table emergency legislation tonight in an effort to stamp out a turbulent student crisis that has gripped the province for months.

Criticism prompts museum to raise age of admission for sex exhibit

OTTAWA, On. -- Despite dozens of complaints, Canada's Science and Technology Museum opened its new sex exhibit on Thursday afternoon.

The exhibit called Sex: A Tell-All Exhibition which is designed to educate young people about sex, has garnered lots of criticism.

Heritage Minister James Moore blasted the exhibit and the museum management, calling it an insult to taxpayers.

Donna Summer dead at 63

The "queen of disco," Donna Summer, passed away Thursday morning after a battle with cancer at the age of 63.

Summer was a five-time Grammy winner who shot to superstardom in the 70s with that sensual sensation "Love to Love You Baby" and her other iconic hits like "Last Dance," "Hot Stuff" and "Bad Girls."
