OTTAWA – Drivers in the city can expect a slower morning commute through the downtown core over the next few months.
Construction begins Monday morning along Rideau Street to replace the aging water main and to spruce up the major artery. It is part of the $30-million revitalization project for the City of Ottawa.
Both eastbound lanes of Rideau Street will be closed between Dalhousie and King Edward Avenue.
Traffic will be rerouted to Besserer Street via Nicholas throughout the work. Meanwhile, westbound traffic will not be impacted.
All businesses on Rideau Street will remain open during the street’s revitalization.
