OTTAWA – Crews are battled a brush fire in the Marlborough forest, South of Ottawa Wednesday night.

A plane spotted the brush fire near Dwyer Hill and O’Neil Roads and called it in to the control tower.

The report was delayed after it was sent to the Montreal Airport, and then dispatched back to Ottawa.

The Ministry of Natural Resources used a helicopter to help locate the fire.

By the time Ottawa Fire arrived on the scene ten acres had been touched by the blaze.

Ottawa Fire’s Mark Messier told 1310News that 25 firefighters were needed to fight the fire.

Due to the remote location Ottawa fire used three ATVs to reach the site. Ottawa fire also used a brush truck and brush tanker to gain control of the fire.

The perimeter of the fire has been extinguished.

Fire crews continued to monitor the site of the fire overnight Wednesday.
