OTTAWA, Ont. – Helene Campbell is back home.

Six months after leaving for Toronto for a double lung transplant, which she received on Good Friday, the 21-year-old organ donation advocate returned to her Barrhaven home on Monday.

Helene will receive a proper Ottawa welcome at a special event at Parliament Hill Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. She’ll be joined by the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health and Pierre Poilievre, Member of Parliament for Nepean-Carleton for the ceremony, which will help promote organ donation awareness across Canada.

Helene took the Twitterverse by storm earlier this year in her quest to improve organ donation awareness.

She has been keeping her supporters posted on her progress through her alungstory blog and her Twitter account, which currently has more than 16,000 followers.
