OTTAWA, On. — Mother Nature has cranked up the heat again.
The forecasted high for Monday is expected to peak in the low to mid 30′s with the humidex in the 40′s. On Sunday, humidex values also hit the 40 mark.
Environment Canada has issued a humidex advisory for Ottawa, Gatineau, and much of Eastern Ontario.
Ottawa’s medical officer of health has also issued a heat advisory.
You are being advised to drink plenty of water, get into air conditioning as much as possible.
A trip to the beach is another good way to cool off. Britannia, Mooney’s Bay, Westboro, Petrie Island East Bay, and Petrie River beaches have the green flags flying.
It’s been a great year for city beaches. A red flag has been issued only 4 times warning of a high E coli reading compared to 84 times last year.
