The former president of the Letrim Minor Hockey Association, David Barker, has been sentenced to 18 months in jail.

Barker was convicted of eleven charges including fraud, theft and forgery earlier this month.

He will also have to repay $42,000 or face another year in jail.

Barker was president in 2006 when a $72,000 check for ice time bounced because of insufficient funds starting the investigation.

They never revealed the exact amount of Barker’s fraud during the trial.
