OTTAWA, Ont – The province’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will be in eastern Ontario Tuesday morning to discuss the impact of dry weather on crops and livestock in the region.

Ted McMeekin will make stops in both Ottawa and Renfrew.

The Minister is expected to tour Fosters Custom Farming on 4th Line Road in North Gower at 11:30 a.m.  He will visit Maple Lane Farms at 194 Breen Line in Cobden at 3 p.m.

The dry conditions have stressed livestock and has farmers worried about what will happen this fall if there isn’t enough feed to get through the winter.

Many farmers are starting to reduce herd sizes.
