LONDON, England – American swimmer Missy Franklin won her third Olympic gold medal on Friday, swimming a world-record time of two minutes, 04.06 seconds in the women’s 200-metre backstroke final.
Canada’s lone swimmer in Friday’s finals, Sinead Russell of Burlington, Ont., finished eighth in 2:09.86.
