OTTAWA – Mayor Watson said he will be taking the day off work Tuesday in order to have minor surgery for skin cancer.
Sadly, this is not the first time the Mayor has been hit with Squamous Cell Carcinoma, several years ago; he underwent surgery for the same condition.
Mayor Watson tweeted the news Monday after participating in Colonel By Day festivities, “I’ll be off work tomorrow for minor surgery @ QCH as a result of a return of Squamous Cell skin cancer. Hope to be back to work Wed.”
The Mayor’s spokesman said he will have two spots removed, one near his temple and one on his back.
The diagnosis was made during an annual physical.
