A man and a woman from Gatineau were arrested and charged for a string of robberies on both sides of the Ottawa River.
On Friday a man armed with a knife tried to rob a store on Jolliet Avenue, then on Sunday a suspect matching the same description robbed a store on Richmond Road.
The get away vehicle didn’t have plates but did have a Quebec trip permit on the window. Gatineau Police confirmed they were also looking for that suspect for three robberies in their city.
Officers set up near Quebec bridges and pulled over the vehicle on King Edward on Sunday. Two Gatineau residents were arrested.
Sylvain St Amand, 45, is charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of possession of a weapon.
Chantal Labelle, 42, is charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and two counts of robbery.
