OTTAWA, Ont. – It’s another weekend jam-packed with summer fun in the Capital.

GreekFest and Capital Pride arel hosting events around the city.

GreekFest kicked off Wednesday and continues through to next weekend. The 12-day festival features Greek dancing, activities and, of course, food.

The festival also has an arts court, where people can purchase artwork and a marketplace to buy Greek ingredients and goods.

There will also be Zorba dancing each night around 8:45 p.m.

GreekFest takes place at the Hellenic Meeting and Reception Centre on Prince of Wales Drive and there will be a free shuttle to and from the location. Admission is free.

Capital Pride is also kicking off this weekend. The 10-day festival features parties, boat cruises, drag shows, discussion groups and a parade among the many events.

The Capital Pride Parade will be held on Sunday, August 26th at 1:00 p.m.

The parade travels through the downtown core, along Wellington Street, down Bank Street, and turns onto Laurier to end at Ottawa City Hall’s Marion Dewar Plaza.

The Ottawa International Film Festival continues through the weekend with a number of film screenings.

The OIFF was founded in 2010 with the purpose of bringing local, national and international filmmakers together in the nation’s capital.

The OIFF focuses on independent talent. Their mandate includes a commitment to the support and development of local film talent and also providing local filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their work alongside major international films.

All film screenings will be held at the Empire Theatres in the World Exchange Centre, located at 111 Albert St.
