TORONTO, Ont. – MPP’s will be returning to work next week to ensure that school starts on time.

The Liberal house leader announced, Monday, that the legislature will resume August 27 to introduce the “Putting Students First Act.”

Education minister Lauren Broten first announced the intention to introduce the legislation at Queen’s Park on Thursday.

She said this legislation is in the best interest of students and parents.

The province has given school boards and teachers until Sept. 1 to sign local agreements similar to one it reached with English Catholic teachers.
