Canadians working full-time jobs are legally entitled to two weeks of vacation every year, but it seems many are spending that time on personal obligations.
A poll conducted for www.flightnetwork.com com finds 56 per cent of respondents have used their vacation time to fulfill personal commitments once in the past year.
Thirty-two per cent say they have done it at least twice.
Weddings are the most common reasons for people taking time off, with 41 per-cent traveling for nuptials. Funerals, baby-related events, house-warmings and religious events were also common responses in the poll.
The poll also revealed one third of respondents have called in sick to avoid forced travel.
