The Transportation Safety Board is on scene in Mapleton Township, after a small plane crashed into a cornfield on Sideroad 3 Friday night.

The pilot and three passengers were all killed in the crash, that saw a single-engine Cessna Aircraft spiral to the ground around 8:40 p.m. Friday.

The victims are reported to be three men and a woman, although it is unclear who was flying the plane.

Constable Keith Robb from the Ontario Provincial Police said that they had a difficult time finding the plane because it was in such a rural area.

“The Transportation Safety Board has been notified, (they’ll be there) along with the coroner to continue the investigation,” Robb said.

There has been no word on where the plane was registered or where it was headed, nor has there been speculation on what may have gone wrong.
