The city’s transit commission has upheld a decision made in April to make student discount fares exclusive to students under 20 years of age.

The Citizen reports Councillor Rainer Bloess called on the transit committee to reverse the decision and make the student discount available to all students regardless of age, but it was voted down.

Students at Carleton and Ottawa U will still have the discounted u-pass during the year, but Adult High School and Algonquin College students will still have to pay the full adult price.
