OTTAWA, Ont. – The price of gas is set to jump roughly two cents overnight.

Ottawa gas prices will climb to just above an average of $1.28 a litre at midnight.

“What goes down must come up, especially given the long weekend,” Dan McTeague with Tomorrow’s Gas Price Today told 1310News. “Put it all together, a 1.9 cent increase Friday night in Ottawa, followed by likely another one cent increase Saturday night into Sunday night, although that’s not etched in stone yet.”

Concerns about the impact of Hurricane Isaac and a refinery fire in Venezuela are a couple of factors in the price hike.
