NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. – For the second time in less than a month an Ontario police force is searching for body parts.
Niagara Regional Police say they’ll be scouring the Niagara River near the Rainbow Bridge after a woman’s torso was found in the river earlier this week.
Investigators say a preliminary post-mortem indicates the torso belongs to a Caucasian woman between 20 and 40 years old.
Police say she was a homicide victim and hope to find more of her remains to aid in identifying her.
Inspector Jim McCaffery says identification is a priority so her family members can have some closure.
Police in the Toronto area are still looking for the torso of a Toronto woman whose head and limbs were found in Mississauga and Toronto.
Police say the two cases are not related.
