OTTAWA, Ont. – More than 100, 000 students and 11, 400 staff are returning to Ottawa area schools Tuesday.
Over 73,000 students will be hitting the books Tuesday at schools across the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
Nine-thousand OCDSB employees are also be back in the board’s 147 schools. An additional 39,000 students in 81 schools head to class under Ottawa’s Catholic School Board with more than 2,400 staff also returning.
Roads will once again be packed with 600 school buses and police will monitoring city streets in school zones throughout the week to watch for speeding and distracted driving.
College and university classes will also be starting up this week. About 78,000 post-secondary students will be attending one of Ottawa’s four post-secondary institutions this year.
