CARLETON PLACE, On. — A 29-year-old Lanark County man has been killed in a head-on collision between a Greyhound bus and a passenger vehicle on Highway 7 west of Carleton Place.
OPP have confirmed that the westbound bus and an eastbound Volkswagen Jetta collided head-on. Damon McCamon, the driver of the Jetta, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police also say some passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries. They were brought to the Carleton Place Community Centre, where a new bus was chartered to either take them back to Ottawa or to continue the trip to Toronto.
As a result, Highway 7 is closed in both directions between Ferguson Falls Road and Tatlock Road.
