PETAWAWA, Ont. - Kevin Malott, 47, of Chalk River, Ont., is dead after being struck by a tractor trailer as he cycled along eastbound Highway 17 through Petawawa Monday morning.

Police have released few details about the 6:30 a.m. crash or the victim, saying only that the man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the transport wasn’t hurt. The driver of the tractor trailer is 53-year-old Rodger Chapman of Morrisburg, Ont. 

Highway 17 re-opened Monday afternoon near Paquette Road.
