OTTAWA, Ont. – The 19th edition of the Ottawa Folk Festival broke attendance records, with 25 to 30 thousand people showing up for the five-day event at Hogsback Park. That’s double last year’s audience.
“The combination of free programming plus the major acts we brought in resulted in a very successful year,” said executive director of Folkfest, Mark Monahan. “Fans really enjoyed the changes we made to the festival site, so we hope to continue to improve and to build on this success.”
It’s the second year under the new direction of Monahan and his team.
This year’s edition of the festival featured acts including Lindsey Buckingham, Great Big Sea, Kathleen Edwards, Patrick Watson, Dan Mangan, Ben Harper, Hey Rosetta and multi-Grammy winner Bon Iver.
