OTTAWA, Ont. – Closing arguments are expected Friday in the sexual assault trial of convicted cop killer Kevin Gregson. He is facing charges of raping a little girl.
Gregson chose not to testify in his own defence Thursday. When asked if he had anything to say in his defence, he rose and told the judge, “No, I do not wish to testify.”
Two doctors from the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario testified Wednesday, that the injuries sustained by the 10-year-old girl who claims Kevin Gregson raped her four times over two days, were severe and consistent with the time line and details she shared with police.
Blood and DNA evidence found on a mattress has linked Gregson to the girl.
Gregson was arrested after killing police constable Ottawa Police Constable Eric Czapnik outside the Ottawa Hospital on December 29, 2009. He was convicted of first degree murder in March and sentenced to life in prison.
He has pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault charges, that date back to the week before Czapnik’s murder.
