The 72nd anniversary of the Battle of Britain was remembered Sunday morning with a parade, a memorial ceremony and a fly by with past vintage and current RCAF aircrafts at the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa.

Second World War veterans paraded alongside RCAF personnel and Air Cadets accompanied by music from the Central Band of the Canadian Forces and the Air Command Pipes and Drums.

The Battle of Britain was the first battle in history to be fought completely in the air.

Over 100 Canadians took part in the battle under the RCAF or Britain’s Royal Air Force.
