OTTAWA, Ont. – You may want to pack your rain gear if you leave the house today.

Tuesday is going to be a wet one in Ottawa, and most of eastern Ontario. A special weather statement is calling for 30-40 millimetres of rain.

Rain isn’t the only thing you’ll notice Tuesday, as the temperature takes a seasonal dip.

“Autumn is definitely known for huge temperature swings,” said 1310News meteorologist Jill Taylor. “Autumn officially arrives on Saturday at 10:49 a.m.”

Jill expects the rain to taper off to showers Tuesday night and for the temperature to remain on the cool side for the next couple of days.
