Transport Canada has issued a safety recall affecting 40,000 cars due to possible problems with an automatic transmission.
The recall affects 2008, 2009 and 2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 cars as well as 2007 to 2010 Saturn auras.
The recall warns the shift cable locking tabs could break.
If this occurs, the transmission may not be in the park position.
The driver may also not be able to restart the vehicle and it could roll away after the driver has exited the vehicle.
