OTTAWA, Ont. – It may be a good idea to gas up Friday.
The price of gas is expected to jump 1.6 cents at midnight, to an average price of 123.9 cents/litre at most Ottawa gas stations.
“The fact is we do follow the prices as they go up rather quickly, but we’re not so quick at dropping prices,” says Dan McTeague with Tomorrow’s Gas Price Today. “We continue to see a ten cents/litre differential at the international benchmark for gasoline.”
McTeague adds, there may be another price increase overnight Saturday into Sunday.
The cost of oil, which is on the rise, is partially responsible for the price hike.
