OTTAWA, Ont. – Ottawa is the city that never sleeps this weekend! Nuit Blanche is holding its inaugural event Saturday, with the theme “La Vie est Belle/Life is Beautiful.”
Nuit Blanche – - which literally translates to ‘white night’ – is an all-night arts and culture extravaganza. It happens in cities worldwide, and is being held in Ottawa for the first time this year.
Nuit Blanche will decorate the city with colour and creativity. Venues remain open late into the night, allowing art lovers can experience works by artists from Ottawa and beyond.
The event transforms public and private spaces across three main zones – - the Byward Zone, the Hintonburg Zone, and the Kids Zone.
There will be everything from a yarn bombed bus to interactive projections, to pop-up galleries, and a neighbourhood block party.
Nuit Blanche is a public event and is free of cost. The event is also held in Leeds, Montreal, Toronto, Paris, New York and Helsinki.
