Thousands of Ottawans stayed up past their bedtimes Saturday, making the city’s first ever Nuit Blanche an overwhelming success.
The all-night art extravaganza wrapped up Sunday at 4:23 a.m. with events and exhibits on display all night long in Byward Market and Hintonburg.
Co-curator Meghan Smith tells 1310News the event exceeded her expectations.
“The artists really made it happen and we’re very very proud of Ottawa and artists. It was a phenomenal night. Nuit Blanche Ottawa took over,” she said.
Smith says St. Brigid’s Centre for the Arts and The Rectory were two of the hot spots with lineups to get in.
She adds artists are already planning for next year on how they can make things bigger and better for 2013.
