OTTAWA, Ont. – An Ottawa police officer’s sex assault trial begins Monday.
Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit found there was sufficient evidence to charge him in connection with a 2008 cell block video. In the video, he can be seen cutting the clothes off a female prisoner.
Constable Steve Desjourdy has been on desk duty since the charge was laid. He also faces a civil trial from the victim.
A publication ban has been placed on the case.
