OTTAWA- A number of products listed in the latest XL Foods beef recall including lean ground beef, bottom round roast, top round roast, beef stew, sirloin tip, and eye of round roast, and beef bones, were all sold at Lavergne Western Beef Incorporated located on Navan Road.

Manager Mario Erickson tells 1310News he’s concerned about what the recall could mean for business at his shop and that the finger should be pointed at whomever made the mistake that lead to the recall in the first place.

Meantime, residents of Navan have mixed feelings when it comes to buying beef.  

Several people told 1310News they are simply not concerned about the X-L Foods recall; however, there are some that feel differently.  

“I like beef, but it is not time to eat beef,” Ron told 1310News.  “If I have a choice, I’ll make a choice other than beef.  I haven’t eaten beef in a week.”

While Dennis told 1310News he is concerned with the recall, but will still buy beef.

 ”I can’t do without meat,” said Dennis.


The products have production dates of September 16th to the 22nd, there are no reported illnesses associated with the products.
