BRIDGEWATER, N.S. – A 47-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting and confining a teenage boy is expected to make his first court appearance today in Nova Scotia.
David James Leblanc was brought back to the province on an RCMP aircraft last Friday and is expected to be in Bridgewater provincial court for an arraignment.
Leblanc was arrested last Sunday in the northern Ontario community of Greenstone after officers were told a man was wandering around with no shoes and wearing light clothing in near-freezing temperatures.
The search for Leblanc’s co-accused, 31-year-old Wayne Alan Cunningham, ended last Thursday when his body was found in a densely wooded area close to where Leblanc was arrested.
The RCMP in Nova Scotia launched an investigation a few weeks ago after a woman reported that a boy showed up at her doorstep in Upper Chelsea, barefoot and chained at his wrists and ankles.
