CORNWALL, Ont. — Julie Bilotta, who gave birth in an Ottawa jail cell on September 29, has been released on bail under strict conditions.
The woman, 26, has been transferred to Norwood House to be reunited with her son.
Under the conditions of her $10,000 bail bond, Bilotta is not allowed to leave the halfway house without an employee, cannot associate with her co-accused and cannot be with anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Bilotta’s lawyer, Don Johnson, tells 1310News Bilotta is “relieved” and says she is “ready to move on” with her life.
“Quite happy about that. This obviously is a very dramatic change in her life, her now being a mother,” says Johnson. “Her new responsibilities as a mother will certainly have a large bearing with regards to her future.”
