OTTAWA, Ont. – Ottawa’s downtown maze of one-way streets could soon open up.
There’s a move afoot by downtown residents to open up Centretown one-ways to two-way traffic.
The design plan would start with Metcalfe Street, followed by Lyon Street, Kent Street, and O’Connor Street.
According to the Ottawa Sun, a consultant’s plan was released last week that said one-way streets are not maximized for the entire day and only benefit drivers during peak periods.
The proposal will be submitted to Ottawa’s planning committee in December.
Could Ottawa’s one-way streets be turned into two-ways?
