OTTAWA, Ont. – An Ottawa City Councillor is set to request an operational and safety review of Bronson Avenue from the city’s Transportation Committee.

Capital Ward councillor David Chernushenko will ask the committee at their next meeting, Wednesday Nov. 3, to examine several factors that he feels would make Bronson Avenue safer for everyone, especially pedestrians and cyclists.

Among the changes Chernushenko wants examined:

-Reducing speed limit to 50
-Having a permanent digital speed read-out sign as well as
-Have signs telling people when to yield

Chernushenko would also like to see a portion of Bronson Avenue’s sidewalk available to cyclists.
