OTTAWA, Ont – A 27-year-old man is in hospital after a single vehicle collision Sunday morning.
It happened on George Street around 3:45 a.m. when the man was walking in the area.
“He was struck while crossing the street,” Ottawa Police Acting Staff Sergeant David Lockhart told 1310News. “My understanding is that he suffered a head injury; however, he is in stable condition.”
Police tape blocked off George Street between William and Dalhousie for several hours so officers could investigate the scene.
They spent about 30 minutes examining the inside and outside of the two-door hatchback car that was involved in the accident after inspecting the road and sidewalk near a parking lot on George Street. The car’s windshield was damaged on the driver’s side.
While next to the vehicle, a green jacket, black hat, runnings shoes and a box of French fries were spread across the on-coming lane.
No arrests have been made.
If you witnessed the collision, you are being asked to call Ottawa Police.
