When people take part in charity runs, more often than not, they don the traditional clothes; shorts or sweats and t-shirts- but not today when the 19th annual ‘Rattle me bones’ event kicks-off at the Ottawa Hospital today.
Runners will hit the pavement in their Halloween costumes- all in support of patient care, arthritis and orthopedic research at the Ottawa Hospital.
Race Director Ken Woodall tells 1310News, what started as a small event has become one of Ottawa’s most popular road races.
Now, more than 2,000 people take part.
A cumulative total of almost $930,000 has been raised in the past 19 years – and they expect to break the $1 million mark this year.
