OTTAWA, On. — A reminder that the City of Ottawa’s garbage pick-up changes go into effect on Monday.
The city is moving to weekly green bin pick-up with alternating weeks of blue and black box pick-up along with bi-weekly trash pick-up. Click here to see collection schedules.
More rural residents will also be getting green bins. Click here for information on how to get the most out of your green bin.
If you have diapers and incontinence products that need to be collected on the weeks without scheduled garbage collection, you can register with the city for weekly pick-up. Click here for more information.
Participating households can place one bag of waste diapers and incontinence products out for collection on the alternating week from garbage collection
City Councillor Maria McRae told1310News the change will save the City at least $10-million a year to extend the lifespan of the Carp Rd. landfill.
