OTTAWA, Ont. – Another cyclist has been struck by a vehicle in the Ottawa region.
A 14-year-old boy was hit at the intersection of McArthur Street and Lafontaine Street in Vanier Thursday morning around 7:30 a.m.
The cyclist was thrown onto the hood of the car before falling to the ground, and was rushed to hospital in stable condition with a back injury.
The incident comes less than two weeks after Carleton grad student Krista Johnson, 27, was struck and killed while riding her bike on Bronson Avenue.
A dairy farmer is credited with saving the life of Jennifer Leonard, 44, after she was hit when she was cycling on McGee Side Road last month.
In September, a man, 59, was killed while riding on Innes Road at Bantree Street.
