OTTAWA, Ont. – Canada’s National Ceremony of Remembrance will be held at the National War Memorial at the corner of Elgin Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.

The ceremony marks the anniversary of the end of the First World War, at 11:00 a.m. on Nov. 11, 1918.

A parade of pipers and war veterans will march from Cartier Square Drill Hall towards the War Memorial prior to the ceremony. The pipe band leaves Cartier Square Drill Hall at 10 a.m, marching on Laurier Avenue to Metcalfe Street and Queen Street.

The pipers will be joined by veterans at the corner of Metcalfe Street and Queen Street, and continue marching down Queen Street to the War Memorial. The ceremony officially begins at 10:55 a.m.

Wreaths are laid by dignitaries, including the Governor General, along with veterans, and representatives of Canada’s armed forces.
