OTTAWA, On – Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for a risk of freezing rain Saturday evening in the capital.
For many people across the city, they are getting prepared by bringing their car into a garage for winter tires to be put on.
“It’s very important to have them on now with the freezing rain and snow coming,” Bud Lusk with Frisby Tires told 1310News.
This is a busy time of year for garages across the city. Matt Nesrallah with Kal Tire told 1310News there is no substititute for winter tires.
“They hold up better in cold weather, they have much better traction on ice and snow,” said Nesrallah. “When you look at the cost of a set of tires versus your insurance deductible and all the headaches of an accident, it’s money well spent.”
Garages are expected to get busier heading into Decemeber.
