A 46-year-old man is in hospital being treated for smoke inhalation, after an apartment fire in West end.

The blaze broke out on the top floor of the building on Fisher Ave., near Baseline.

The fire was contained to one apartment as crews were able to handle it very quickly.

When firefighters arrived around 1:15p.m., smoke was blowing from an upper story window.

The cause of the fire and the amount of damage is still unknown.
