ELK VALLEY, British Columbia -  Elk Valley RCMP are issuing an amber alert for a missing three-year-old boy.

Alvin Barnet is believed to be with his father, 39-year-old Robert Barnet.

Alvin is described a 3-foot-2, 35 pounds, wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.

Robert is described as 5-foot-five, Caucasian with green eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark sweater, blue jeans, and runners. He is possibly unshaven with some facial hair, has reddish blonde hair, and a scar above his right eyebrow.

RCMP say the pair have crossed the border into the USA in a blue 2002 Subaru Outback, BC license plate #347SBL.

RCMP are advising you do not approach them and immediately call 9-1-1.
