The union representing Ontario’s high school teachers has reached a tentative deal with a school board north of Toronto.
The agreement between the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation and the York Region District School Board was reached early Saturday morning.
A tentative deal was also reached yesterday with the Upper Grand District School Board covering high school teachers in the Guelph area.
The deals need to be approved by Education Minister Laurel Broten, who said that all new contracts must cut teacher`s eligible sick days in half and end retirement payouts of unused sick days.
