The Israeli military says Hamas militants in Gaza fired another rocket at Tel Aviv Sunday morning.

However, officials say it was intercepted by Israel’s “Iron Dome” missile defence system.

Israeli police say two Hamas rockets were fired at Israel today, but it’s impossible to reconcile the two reports.

Fifty-one Palestinians and three Israelis have been killed since the fighting started last Wednesday.

Meantime, the Harper government is reaffirming its support for Israel in its four-day-old conflict with Hamas militants in Gaza.

`Israel has the right to defend itself,” adding “that’s the bottom line”, said Defence Minister Peter MacKay.

MacKay commented in Halifax, where he’s attending a three-day international security forum that wraps up Sunday afternoon.
