BANCROFT, Ont.- Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the deaths of two seniors in the Bancroft area.

Police found the body of a man, 87,  lying on Weslemkoon Lake Road, at around 3:45 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The man’s van was later found roughly one and a half kilometers away.

The OPP’s Canine Unit were called in to do a search of the area and located a female, 79,  in a wooded area nearby.

Police wouldn’t reveal if the two deceased were related, and said it’s too early to determine the cause of the deaths.

Sgt. Kristine Rae with OPP told 1310News police do have information that they are not willing to share at this time, and added foul play is not suspected and post mortem examinations are scheduled.
