TORONTO, Ont. – The Salvation Army in Toronto has allegedly been robbed of more than $2-million in toys over two years at its North York warehouse.
The toys were allegedly stolen from the Railside Road facility. Food and other donations were also reportedly taken.
The agency fired the executive director of the warehouse this week after a whistleblower, said to be an employee, came forward in August. The remarks sparked an internal audit that led to his firing.
The Salvation Army has not publicly linked the executive director to the alleged theft.
Toronto police are expected to release details Wednesday.
