OTTAWA, ON – The Ottawa Food Bank kicked off its Holiday Food Drive on Saturday.
Donations will go to 140 emergency food programs in and around the the capital, which feed over 48,000 people in need every month.
One of the more highly sought after items is peanut butter.
“If you combine a jar of peanut putter with a loaf of bread – which we get donated – you can feed a family for quite some time”, Executive Director Peter Tilly told 1310News.
Non-perishable items can be dropped off at donation boxes set up at grocery stores throughout the capital.
The food drive wraps up on December 13th.
