Palestinian supporters endured cold weather Saturday afternoon to show their displeasure with the Harper Government’s support of Israel in their ongoing conflict with the Palestinians.

Around 200 people participated in the demonstration. The protest started in front of the University of Ottawa and made its way through the downtown core, with stops at Parliament Hill and the Israeli Embassy.

One of the supporters wanted to make sure the Canadian Government got the message.

“They are not defending war crimes. Israel committed a war crime and they’re taking it as it’s justified, but its not, it’s injustice. We’re trying to send this message to the Canadian Government so that they wake up and see what’s going on.”

A ceasefire between Israel and Palestine has temporarily stopped the violence in the area.
