OTTAWA, ON – The inquest into the death of two-year old Jeremie Audette started on Monday.
Jeremie drowned in an outdoor swimming pool at an unlicensed daycare in Orleans in 2010.
A former Acting Captain with Ottawa Fire took the stand and said Jeremie was found at the bottom of the pool.
The toddler was last seen about 10 minutes before crews arrived and continued CPR.
Jeremie’s vital signs were absent when Ottawa Paramedics arrived.
Jeremie’s father, Alain Audette, was at the first day of the inquest.
“I’m very positive this is going to prevent and maybe change some regulations or laws”, said Audette.
He has two children and hopes recommendations will be made to keep them, as well as other local children, safe.
