OSGOODE, Ont. – There were no injuries after a fire in Osgoode early Wednesday morning.

A person delivering newspapers called 911 at 3:56 a.m. when they noticed the front deck of Ozzie’s Pizzeria at 5673 Osgoode Main Street had caught fire.

Fire crews told 1310News there is extensive damage to the kitchen and dining room. Damage is pegged at $60,000.

The investigation into what caused the fire continues.

Meanwhile, around 6 p.m firefighters were called to 932 Torino Terrace near Tenth Line Road and Brian Coburn Road road where they found the kitchen of an end unit fully engulfed.

It took 30 minutes for crews to put out the flames.

An unattended pot is blamed for the fire.

No one was injured but as a result of the three people cannot return home for now.

Damage is estimated at $48-thousand.

A similar fire in Bells Corners has left a family homeless after a fire destroyed the kitchen of their row house.

Fire crews were called to 42 Hadley Court at 4:15 where an unattended pot ignited a fire.

The fire was extinguished in 15 minutes, but as a result, a mother, her two children and a friend were not allowed to return home.

The price tag on how much damage was done was not released.
